Sheet protection help

Pls adv why the Office 2000 SR-1 Small Business (Excel), can view the formula
created by Office XP Small Business eventhough it is protected by password?

However, when i sent the file to another workstation that is using Office XP
Small Business, it could only edit the cells that were unlocked by me but it
couldn't view the formula as i used the Sheet Protection function. So, just
curious why Office 2000 can view the formula (but it can't change the
formula)?

Hi

There are 2 attributes that can be set for the cell, that are invoked
when Protection is applied.
One is Locked and the other is Hidden.

Dependant upon which was chosen would account for the differences you
observe.
You can (and perhaps normally) would select both.

It is not a difference in behaviour between the two versions of Excel.
