sharing files and folders by one user on 2 computers

Could anybody help me step by step on how to share files? Or tell me where
to find some litterature I can understand. In all possible "help", it is
explained how to share a file in a computer with several users.

My problem is to share files on two computers connected in network through a
router, and I am the only user. I already created my folders in both
computers, went to "sharing and security" and checked "share this folder on
the network...." and "allow network to change my file" etc... I even went to
Computer management, but of course I am the administrator, and there is
nothing I can succeed to do. My folders stubbornly stay on the computer where
they were created.

Someone already helped me for some files, but I have nothing in written, and
I just cannot. It didn't seem so difficult yet!

I HOPE someone can help me once for all solve this problem.

Your problem maybe that your networks are not set to share files. I'm
using windows XP. So unfortunately i can only explain it this way as i
haven't used any other windows in such a long time. But any way. If you
go to control panel and and go to network connection it'll bring up
your newtork (it'll show ur internet gateway if your using dsl and
you'll see Lan or high-speed internet). Ypu'll want to right click your
the one thats under Lan/High-speed and go to properties. Next you'll
see a list "this connection uses the following items). Look for and
make sure thats it's checked "File and Printer Sharing For Windows
Network". If it is already checked thats great. Now if your the only
one using these computers then you might as well have access to the
entire hard drive. You'll want to go My Computer and click right click
the hard drive that you want to share and go to "Properties" then go to
the "Sharing Tab" and and check mark both "share this folder on the
network" and "allow users to change my files". You'll have to give it
some time to register through your router as I had the same problem. If
this doesn't work then you'll have to resetup a network connection for
both computers..and make sure that the "Work Group Name" is the same
when you set up your network again. (default for Windows XP is MS
HOME). This is all the help I can give. I hope it helps

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, what you suggest I already did it.
Moreover, as I said, I have some files already shared. What I need is the
next steps to make all that work. Since the person who helped me is not here
anymore. What file to create and in which computer, and how to blow on the
folder in computer 1 to send it to computer 2;

Windows Networking is pretty simple when it works, but a lot of times it
doesn't.

Do both computers have Internet service? Run "browstat status", "ipconfig
/all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each computer,
and we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and
follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

doesn't move from one computer to the other, it stays on the computer it was
created on. The other computer in the network can access the folder or file
but when it does it accesses it from the original location. Windows
Networking does not move files from one PC to another.

If you're looking for something that will allow a shared folder or shared
files to replicate from one computer to another (there will be a folder on
each PC, with the files in that folder residing on both PCs) then you need
something like the Sync Toy from Microsoft:

Well.... I try to open it, I get "fatal execution engine error (0x7927e03e).
Cacn you etll me the cause???? I did all what you told me to do since
yesterday, it seems I get more headache. I sent some feedback but not
received an answer.

If you're getting an error trying to install the downloaded package I would
suggest the download is corrupt. Re-download and reinstall.
