Sharing and maintenance

Background: I have one laptop with WinXP Professional and a desktop with a
newly installed addition of WinXP Media edition linked by a wireless network.

Previously, I would use my laptop to connect to the old version of WinXP
professional on the desktop and performaintenance on the PC. I had complete
control over the PC folders and could delete all files, including temporary
internet files.

Since I installed a new HD in the PC and installed WinXP ME, I cannot delete
files in the temporary internet files, though I can see them. I get access
denied although the folders hare shared with full rights.

Also, this might be related to the problem or not, if I delete the files
through Internet Options, it doesn't appear to delete all, leaving some
folders and a file (often bucketstrip.xml).

In addition, I can use the photo wizard to create new folders and place
photos in the PC's My Pictures folder, so I do have access.

What could I be doing wrong? (The PC belongs to my wife and it is much
easier to maintain the pc for her then to explain to her how to do it, but I
want to be able to do it from my laptop.)

Since you are able to see the files the only way to fix the problem is to
give full permissions to those folders.
Make sure that you add "Everyone" and especially the user name containing
the folders and the user name from where you are trying to access - Got to
give full access permissions.
This will fix this.

Thanks Jai, but I still have a couple of questions.

1) How can I give full permissions to temporary folders that the system
automatically corrects?

2) How do I Add specific users? I see how to share, but there does not
appear to be any place to designate a user.
