Shared workbook

Any idea why my shared workbook tells me that it's opened
exclusively by another user? We were not both doing saves
at the same time.
 
Probably the other user have not checked it in. It may happen if Excel is
closed while the document is still checked out.
You will need to force it to check in.
Are you using SPS or WSS?
