Shared Tasks in Exchange Server

I have a situation on an Exchange Server where a task was shared and files
were placed within the task. Over time as the Task progressed the files were
edited and changed. Recently the attached files became inaccessible.
How can the access to the files within the task be accessed?
 
When a shared task is openned an error message results "Could not open one or
more attachments." After the task has opened, all attached files are not
visible. The attached files could be anything from pictures to emails to
excel files.

Further to the problem, if I try to insert a file/email into one of the
tasks that I am having a problem with I get the following error message: "The
messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists,
restart Outlook."

There are only a couple of tasks that have this problem. It started
sometime after some Antivirus maintenance occured on the server. I had to
update the McAfee engine & DATs within NetShield & GroupShield. I made sure
that all users had logged out before restarting the server. I then performed
a virusscan using GroupShield.
