Shared Fax Permissions

Matt

I have a Win 2003 server with a shared Fax. The Fax works when a user logs
in to the client machine with a username and password setup on the server.
Currently everyone logs into their client machine as 'administrator' and no
password. Besides that being a bad security policy, is there any way to use
the shared Fax as a specific user? Like the mapped network drives has
"connect using a differnt user name". I draw the line at running the server
with administrator and no password!

Thanks,

Matt

You can give different permissions to the users through the fax service
manager. Right-click Fax, select Properties and then the Security tab.
More details on this are available in the help file
mk@MSITSotre:%windir%\help\FxsAdmin.chm::/FaxS_HSecurity.htm.

For the share you can right click "Fax" in Printers and Faxes Folder and
select Properties and then the Security tab.
