Hello all.

I have two PC's connected VIA A LAN. One has its C drive shared.

On the other computer when I map a drive to the shared C Drive, I want a
password box to appear and the user has to enter a valid user/password (one
from the shared drive PC) in ordfer to access the drive.

Because right now, it just lets the person in without a password or
anything.

All accounts on the PC that is sharing the C drive have passwords.

The account I am using to map a drive does not have a password at all.

Any ideas?

First word of caution: not a good idea to share main C drive, consider
sharing any specific data subfolders.

If this is XP and the drive is NTFS formatted then you can use NTFS file
permissions to allow sharing to restricted set of users. Youmay have to
disable simple file sharing if it is on.
