Shared Calendar in public folders doesn't work, despite all efforts

Here is my setup:
Exchange 2003 on a Windows 2000 server on a Active Directory network.
Users use XP Pro SP2 with Outlook 2003 installed.

I am basically just going to go step by step what I have done to share
a public calendar with my employees via the server. I hope someone
will be able to find my blunder and eventually help me figure out why
my users can see the calender and add stuff to the calendar, but no
one can see any added items on this public calendar except those that
added appointments. And even then they can only see them when logged
in as themselves...

Basically, I work for a school and all the teachers want to be able to
post their test scheduals on this calendar shared by all teachers.
This will help them avoid over wheleming students with 5 or 6 tests in
one day and will help the teachers schedual days better for their
tests....

In my outlook 2003, I go to the folder list view.
at the bottom, I find "Public Folders" and I extend that and find "All
Public Folders"I right click all public folders, and go to "New
Folder".
I name is "HSTESTCAL" and chose for Folder Contains, "Calendar Items".
I keep the new calendar in the All Public Folders folder.

I can go to any other user's machine and find this now in their "All
Public Folders" folder.
I have the users find this, right click it, and "Copy HSTESTCAL" to
their mailbox's calendar (this way they can view the HSTESTCAL along
with thier own outlook calendar.)

However, when a user successfully does this, my little test tests that
I added in mine arent showing up. Likewise, when a user adds a test or
any item in this public calendar, it doesnt show up on my machine's
outlook public calendar that I created.

I can go to my exchange server and see the calendar just fine, but the
added items by my users arent showing up.

I have a group in my AD called "All Employees" which, obviously,
included ALL my users. And their permissions are set to "Publishing
Author."

I do hope that I am missing some small, obvious thing, amhoping a nice
soul in this group can point me in the right direction

with thier own outlook calendar.)

This is where you went wrong. The copy has no connection with the original. Or rather, the copies, because each copy in each mailbox is unique and unconnected with the original.

Instead, users should put information into the HSTESTCAL calendar itself. To make it easy to reach, show users how to add it to Public Folders\Favorites.

Thanks Use, this was the issue and all is well, now... always the
simple, obvious things!
