Share information between two different Word documents?

I have an internal document and an external document. The external document
will be sent out to suppliers. Is there a way to automatically transfer
supplied information from the internal document to the external document
without re-typing?
 
Yes, using an IncludeText field, having bookmarked the original text in the
internal document. The easiest way to bookmark text and preserve the
bookmarks is to use form fields in a protected or online form. For more

However, I would recommend sending your external document out as a pdf.
Otherwise, you will need to unlink or freeze the includetext fields in your
external document so they don't go blank when on a different computer.

Thank you Charles. This was very helpful and will save me a ton of work.
 
To send out as a pdf requires some other software than Word. I use CutePDF
which is a free download. The lead commercial program is Adobe Acrobat.

If you want to freeze or unlink the fields and send a Word document, post a
question on how to do this in the word.vba.beginners newsgroup and someone
will help you put together a macro.
