share an access 2000 file

I have shared a directory in a server, in this directory there is an
accessfiles 2000

when i use this format ( \\ServerName\DirName ) more users can open this file
when I use this format ( \\Ipserver\DirName ) ONLY ONE user can open this file

I'd like use the second format, haw can do it ?

send that to the users who need to open the database.
