I now understand the issue. The code Bob posted has the same issue. It
appears that when you have the screen resolution set to 32-bit, then the
transparencykey does not work.

Very odd then, because I ran your code last night, and on 16 bits I saw the
yellow smiley face on its own, and at 32 bits, It also displayed the pink
background. I am running XP Home if this has any bearing on the situation
Any ideas then bob.
