Shape of projected slides

Today, with my new computer hooked up to my host's projector, the slides on
the Slide Sorter view or in the slide show itself were square, rather than
rectangular. My host then hooked up her computer, I copied the same
presentation on to her computer, and the slides were the correct shape. How
do I ensure that my computer's slides are the correct shape?

Is one computer connected to a wide screen monitor or screen and the other
one to a regular monitor or screen? If so, this is pretty much expected
behavior. It sounds like the projector only does regular screen proportions,
not wide screens.

My computer has a wide screen. What do I change to make the slide show work
with a projector that apparently only reads correctly a regular screen?

Your computer may have a way of setting the display to normal proportions.
Check the user manual for that.
