shadows copy on Win2k Professional

Eugene

We have Win2k Professional and Win XP workstations in our
environment. We are using the Windows server 2003 Standard
version as our File and Print Server. We did able the
Shadow copy on one of the share volumes which contain all
the users personal share folders. We are using folder
redirection for the Personal share.

The shadow copy work fine with the XP users. When they
click on the previous version, they will see all the
previous version of My Documents. However when the same
user log on to a Win2K computer and click on the previous
version, no previous version of My Documents show up.

Can anybody help?

Eugene, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I'm pretty sure you need to
install some sort of client piece on the W2K machines for that feature.
The client is native to XP, but not earlier versions of NTx. Can't tell
you where to find the client, though, however, I would be shocked if it
weren't included on the W2K3 Server CD.

No, XP requires the client install software. It is not there by default.
The 2003 help tells you where it is located on the hard drive.

I don't know about W2K, though. I would check the help to see if it is
meant for w2k, too, and if the client software is the same.
