"shadow printing"

My computer has recently been updated to Windows XP. I
have a HP 970cse printer. Since the update, every page
that I print has "shadow" printing on every other line of
my document. Is this an incompatible printer or is a
setting? Any help in this matter would be greatly
appreciated.

If you did not delete the printer before upgrading to Windows XP, you've
most likely got the wrong driver version.

Delete the printer, then delete the drivers (see
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm), then add the
printer again.
