I need help figuring out what's up with my computer. The most noticeabl
symptom is that the "sfc /scnnow" command does not function. I continuall
get an error message telling me that it needs to copy dll files. When I pu
the CD in, it tells me that I have the incorrect CD for the operatin
system. Since this is the disk the computer came with ...and it used t
work, I'm not sure what to do. Here are the things I've tried
1. Cleaned the disk, drives and tried my other drive -- no good
2. Found a web site with sfc help hints and tried them all: copies th
i386 folder to my c drive, redirected the registry to point to the copie
folder, changed the drive that the registry points to...nothing works
Now I noticed that my MS games do not work ...those installed with th
operating system (Hearts, checkers, etc.) I've tried uninstalling an
re-installing using add/delete programs but when trying to install I kee
getting a message indicating that the system need to copy dll files. Again
there is no way to copy them
What is going on? I really do not want to reload the OS, but I am havin
some problems such as intermittent BSODs when playing some games. An
suggestions HELP
