sfc /scannow problem

Using Win XP Pro Sp2. When trying to run the command sfc /scannow it rejects
my Windows Disk! Why is this and how do I get around this problem?

Are you being prompted for a Windows XP SP2 CD which you do not have because
you installed Service Pack 2 as an update from an CD, Windows Updates or the
Service Pack 2 for ITs download from Microsoft? If so, please read the
following KB article for solutions.

You are prompted to insert a Windows XP SP2 CD when you try to run the
System File Checker tool on a Windows XP SP2-based computer
