Running WinXP Pro SP3 with all the updates.

If I run SFC /scannow, will it replace files that have been updated with
files that came with the computer and so make it so I can't run anymore?

AFAIK, you need to run sfc /scannow from the CD that has been
slipstreamed with SP3 so that all your files of SP3 version are replaced
with the identical ones. You then need to run your updates all over again.

You should be able to run your system after the sfc run process and
rebooting the system. That is the whole idea to correct any
incompatibilities with the file system.

Hope this helps.

I didn't get a CD with SP3, I just installed it from Microsoft. Your URL
reference only tells how to run SFC.
