ok i have about 10 problems here that i need help with,
sorry im not a pc noob but i just cant seem to fix these
1. WMI is corrupt system restore does not fix it
2. my major problem: CANNOT download
I go to a site even microsoft, click on a link to
download and says im not authorized, so i try my dl
manager and it dl's but just as its about to finish it
says 'Error saving file, Access is denied'
Im logged on as an admin, ive checked gpedit.msc, ive
checked my internet properties, all downloads are
enabled, even my security settings have been put on low
and it still wont work
3. Cant use windows update, java and active x is enabled
but when i go to winupdate it says new windows update
software is needed, i click Update and it says updating
then installing then it just reappears at the 'New
windows update software needed'screen this is a BIG
problem as i cannot download updates, or download anythin
for that matter
4. Installation, most programs i try and install it says
did not pass Windows xp logo testing and cant continue
ok so it werent 10 questions but still i really need your
help
My firewall isnt up, i set all its settings to low, tried
exiting my firewall, hey i even tried uninstallin my
firewall, I tried removing internet explorer and readding
it, i cant check to see wether the ICF is enabled or not
cause when i go to Local area connection > Properties >
Advanced tab it says 'Windows cannot display the
properties of this connection. The Windows Management
Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted. To
correct this, use System Restore to restore Windows to an
earlier time (Called a restore point). System restore is
located in the System Tools folder in Accessories.'
So im really messed up here arent i
My XP isnt a pirate (or so i know) cause i done valid
thing test and my key goes like this, xxxxx-xxx-5919031-
xxxxx
I dont have an XP cd, xp came with the pc they did not
give me an xp cd and wen i go to them they say they wont
give me a free xp cd with the pc (cheapskates), and i
dont wanna turn in my pc cause of the hd, i have many
many important things on the hd, some people suggested
getting a new hd and using my Wd 500gb one as a storage
but at the moment id like to see if any of you can help
me firstly rather then paying 100 pounds for a hd when i
might be able to fix it
