Several things messing and strange.

xp home with serv pk2 and all updates.

This started when the Works calendar in works suite 2004 quit working. I
removed the suite. Of course, that removed word. Now

When I try to use restore point. It shows calendar but won't let me back to
another month (Sept) to restore.

At one point all of the services were disabled. I have changed some of
those, but don't think I have all since I have lost all of the networking and
connections.

I did get the installation wizard working again and it shows that Word is
being re-installed when I run the disk. There is also a restore point
showing that it was installed BUT it doesn't show up anywhere and when I do a
search it says not installed.

Is there a way to get back to a restore point if the utility won't let me
back a month? Is this a complete crash? If I have to re-install can I do a
"dirty" install or must I reformat and reinstall all programs?

I have tried restore in safe mode. Same results. Can anyone help

You can always boot from your cd and perform a repair installation
