several problems

I have 2 comps connected. One of them is running WinXP and the other one
Win98. The Win98's name is "Estefy", but I don't know why it didn't apper
when I tried to check my network places, but I could just type in the
address bar "\\Estefy\c" and enter.
Well, now I want to share a folder that is in my comp (running WinXP). But I
want that whenever someone from the other comp tries to access it, a
password is asked. How do I configure that? And I had to share it to
"Everyone" because since "Estefy" doesn't appear, I cannot share it to
"\\Estefy\Estefanía" (Estefanía is the name of the user who uses the Win98
comp). So I decided to change the Win98 comp name, and now it's "Horror".
Now I have in my Network places "Compufak" (my comp), Estefy, and Horror!
But Estefy is inaccessible. And when I want to share this folder with
"\\Horror" I can't! I even try to find it but it only shows Compufak (my
comp). What could be causing this? And how do I make it start showing only
the comps that exist and no fake and ghost comps? Lol

I also had another problem that I posted but didn't receive any reply. If
someone wants to read it and help I would be REALLY thankful.
Thanks in advance!

---------------------------

I've had to install additional software (Wingate) in order to share my
Internet connection because it didn't work properly with the one that comes
with Windows.
I had my comp and that worked properly, then I had some problems with my
comp and when it came back from the service I formatted and reinstalled (cuz
I'm a freak and I don't like strangers to use my PC, lol), and I did
everything EXACTLY as before but this time the Internet connection wasn't
being shared properly. From the client computer I could use Internet but
only surf some pages, and some don't, and couldn't use some services such
MSN Messenger. What could be causing this? The network was set up properly
cuz I can share files, but the Internet connection I can't.
Thanx in advance =)
