Setup Message

We have a user running Windows XP on a desktop PC.
Shortly after signing on this morning, her screen went
Black and she received a message suggesting that she run
the Setup Program - (select F1 to continue or F2 to run
Setup Utility). She mentioned a message referring to the
IDE configuration and mentioned something about low
voltage in the battery? She had selected F1 before I was
able to see the message. This did bring her system back
up - we did noticed that her date and time settings were
incorrect (September 24, 2002/1:55AM).
Any ideas as to what caused the message?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
lj

Replace the CMOS battery. In desktop PCs this is usually a coin cell located
on the motherboard. After replacing the battery, enter the BIOS and load the
default settings. You may have to manually adjust some settings such as the
date & time. Save the settings and exit. Refer to your motherboard
documentation for details.on replacing the battery and how to make changes
in the BIOS settings.

Her motherboard battery probably needs to be replaced. After replacing
it, be sure to set the time and date correctly in the BIOS.
