'E:/setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.' <<

Why isn't it, I wonder, and what went wrong? The .iso successfully copied to
the DVD.

If you downloaded the 64bit version then the setup is a Win64 application
but can be run successfully from boot up

This error is showing up due to burn speeds. Try lowering the burn speed
when you burn the dvd.

Stephen is correct, of course. You can only launch the x64 setup from an XP
Pro x64 desktop. If you are using XP x86 you have to boot the machine with
the dvd to install Vista x64.

I get the same error, so I burned at 1x with alchohol 120%, I still get the
same error.

By the way the first time I burned the .iso I did it at 2x with nero.( same
problem).

You cannot install Vista 64-bit from inside windows XP. You must install
from a cold boot.

Sorry,
Maybe I didn't make my argument clear... I get the errors when I do a CLEAN
BOOT...

But, I figured out the problem. I changed the DVD drive I was booting from
and the problem went away....

(maybe some drives just don't like certain images, or maybe the drive I
bruned it on is missalligned?) I gave the same DVD Disc to a friend and he
had no problems with it...
