setting up the permissions

I have WinXp professional Installed on my system. As my pc is connected with
a workgroup outside my home and i also connect my pc with my home base
network.
the question is when i share some folders or files or some other resources
with my home based network, it is also visible to all users of outside
workgroup which is unwanted. So plz explain how can i get the soln of this
prob? if I should set permissions then how? how can i make a group of a
workgroup user? I search a lot but cant find the right solution... plz help
me in this regard..

any one can help?

Unless you want to buy a Windows server and switch to domain services, I
recommend you disable simple file sharing in the Folder Options control
panel. (The setting is all the way at the bottom of the controls in the
View tab.)

Then create accounts on your system that match the userIDs and passwords
that others who will access your system use to logon to their systems.
Set file/folder permissions to grant these users the proper access, or
create a new user group, set permissions on the group, and make these
accounts members of that new group.
