it's free. i am using my @yahoo.co.uk account and all my messages have
transferred over to windows mail but alas i still cannot send.

It seems you have to upgrade to yahoo plus, may be in the start you may have
received it but now it may be blocked.

use mail.yahoo.co.uk for both

Make sure that your user name is correct. I would remove the account and then
"add" an account and start all over making sure you follow the steps exactly.

Did you recently upgrade to Internet Explorer 8? If you did, uninstall it as
it is a real trouble maker.

Yes. Only Yahoo Plus subscribers will be able to access their
(e-mail address removed) account in Windows Mail.

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then uncheck the SSL option.

However, that's not pertinent in this instance because Yahoo-UK
accounts have always had free POP access.

I am not aware of IE 8 having significant problems. The problem with email
attachments is a known problem, but I have not read in this newsgroup about
much else, perhaps nothing else, that is a problem with IE 8. Are you aware
of an authoritative list of other problems with IE 8?
