Setting up RunOnce registry Key when Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware is Installed

We have an application that installs a third party driver
which requires a
reboot after installation (yes, even on XP). When the
user has agreed to
install the driver (and the required reboot), we set up
the RunOnce registry
key to restart our application after reboot. Once the
RunOnce key has been
set up, Microsoft Antispyware displays the
message 'Unknown start-up program
requires approval' and gives an option to block the
RunOnce, which is
unhelpful and scares our customers.

Is there any way to let the AntiSpyware know that our
application is to be
trusted or can be viewed as safe? Any advice appreciated.

At the present time, during the beta, the mechanism for getting in touch
with Microsoft to have your app listed as a known program, is to use the
Vendor dispute form, located here:

http://www.spynet.com/vendors.aspx

The primary purpose of this mechanism is to allow vendors to dispute a
listing of their software by Microsoft Antispyware. So--you'll find that it
may seem not directly relevant to your needs--but that's the form for
getting this process started at present.

Further background about the criteria for having an application listed for
removal by Microsoft Antispyware can be found here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892340 Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)
identifies a program as a spyware threat (Listing criteria and Dispute
process)

(I know this isn't your issue, but it gives some background to the use of
the dispute form, and others reading may be intereste!)
