setting up passwords

seeing that i'm new to windows xp pro, how do i set passwords at startup?
i'm used to 98SE and it was easy. can i still use a password when the
computer starts up? how is it done with xp? i want to keep people off my
computer.

As with all operating systems in standard configuration, if someone can
access the hardware, then they can access your data, even if you set up user
accounts with strong passwords.

Control Panel > User Accounts > select your user account and add a password.
