Setting up or trying to

Original problem is that after the DELL screen (for
Dimension 2400), the screen would go to Windows XP Home
edition screen. The bar towards the bottom, which green
light moves from left to right with pauses.goes on and i
end up stuck there.

It was suggested to get a replacement disk, for the
original was lost. so i recently ordered for one.

Was attempting to set up Windows XP Home Ed. With a
majority of the screen in blue with a lower strip in white
the LOADING FILES was in progress. About 1 minute for
that. Then comes WELCOME TO SET UP. 3 Choices...<ENTER>
to set up Windows XP...PRESS R to repair Windows XP
Installation or F3 to Quit. R OR F3 leads to safe mode
and nowhere fast. <ENTER> shows another blue screen with
heading WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION SETUP. The bottom
states...EXAMINING 38163 MB DISK 0 AT ID 0 ON BUS 0 ON
ATAPI...
And nothing happens after 30 minutes!

save changes and exit.Next, install xp cd,boot to cd,select at info screen either,
recovery or reinstall xp.If recovery, press enter if prompted for password, then
at cms screen type:CHKDSK C: /R Type:EXIT when its thru.If install is the
