Hi,
I recently bought a Linksys wireless router and am trying to set up a home
network with my PC and laptop. The PC is running XP professional and the
laptop XP Home.
Both machines can link the web okay but I cannot share files between the
computers.
I set up the network on both computers using the Network wizard. I can see
the workgroup from both machines under 'My Network Places\Microsoft Windows
Network', but when I try to access it from either machine I get a message
saying "You might not have permission to use this network resource"
After reading a thread on XP networking I tried changing the services on my
laptop to disable the "Computer Browser" but to no avail.
I have disabled the windows firewall on both computers and switched off any
other firewall software I have.
I have tried pinging the two computers from each other. I got a response
from the laptop when I pinged it from the PC but it timed out when I tried to
ping the PC from the laptop.
Can anyone help me out?
