Setting the Spam Filter

I foolishly gave my e-mail address to a website, and now every day I get
about a dozen promotional solicitations. I have a business where people
contact me from my website or, less often, by sending me an e-mail from their
own computer.

Is there a way of setting the spam filter to block out the promotions
without blocking out communications from potential clients?

Incidentally, does anyone know whether the spam resulting from this incident
will eventually peter out?

On this, assuming the address or domain is always the same, I'd set up a
rule to delete all mail from the address or domain. If you aren't using
Exchange and your mail server has a web interface, create a rule online to
delete them.
