Setting Tabs

Word 2003

I am trying to set the tabs in a word document so I would be able to move
between selected lines and paragraphs by using the tab key.

To fill out selected fields in a standard form

We used to do this with WordPerfect we would put a marker (carrot) and tab
to fill in standard form

Do I need to put this document into a template or form and if so how do I
do this
