Setting Outlook as default client...not OE

I'd like to use Outlook exclusively...currently, under the General tab in OE
it shows that OE is not the default mail handler. All incoming email is
posting to OE versus Outlook. Ongoing issue...and have not found
resolution...I'm open to a solid suggestion. Thanks in advance.
 
control panel, internet options, programs, change drop
down menu for email to Outlook, click apply
