Hello, I used to have Windows 98 and I was able to find
a font I likrd, Make it bold and Italic, size 14 and the
color and everything I typed came out that color. Just
like I requested. Since I have had Windows XP. I can't
seem to program this same service. I am using control
pannel and font. I have also tried my toolbar to pick
and it never works. Do you know what I am doing wrong?
I sure would appreciate your advise. Thank you

Setting font attributes, such as face, size, and color are normally a
function of any given program, not XP itself. If you told us what program
you're trying to set the font in, more detailed help could be given.

In most wordprocessing programs, look in the Format menu, or right click on
a highlighted block of text. In Outlook express, be sure your new message
has format set to Rich Text (in plain text you don't get font features.
That's why it's called plain.)

Debbie, you are probably used to Word, which is not part of Windows, though
it is from the same company. Word is a powerful word processor. Windows does
come with a few free extra programs, like Internet Explorer. One of them is
called WordPad. It is like a baby version of Word, but not nearly so much
fun.
WordPad has fonts, italics, bold, colored fonts, centering, cut and paste,
etc. It does not have graphics, grids, word art, tools and other fancy
stuff. If you open a WordPad document using Word, it becomes a Word
document, and then you can do fancy things to it.
