Setting default file for Clipart

J

Jan Il

Hi all - PPT 2002 XP - WinME

I would like to be able to set my clipart default file location for a
specific folder, however, I am unable to fine out how/where to do this. I
have looked in the Help files and the Web Help files, but, I can't find
anything that covers how to reset the default files locations.

I'd truly appreciate any suggestions. Perhaps I am not using the proper
terms or something. ?

If you mean where it looks when you select My Collections for searching,
open Word and go to Tools > Options > File Locations and select "Clipart
pictures", click on modify and browse to the folder.

There are some things that are Office-wide. However, beats me why you can't
make the change in PowerPoint.

Yep! That did the trick. No wonder I couldn't find where to change them. I
was trying to do it in PPT. ;-)

Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it.

Yeah....because, I have a lot of custom clipart that I use only in Word, and
the same for PPT. But, I can only have one to choose from when I open the
Insert either way. One way or the other, I have to do the lookup stuff,
which just takes more time. Presentations and WP used to have their own file
location setup which was nice, and very time saving when you are testing
several images.

The most difficult part is in knowing the right term to use in the search.
It would really simplify things a lot if they were a bit more in end user
terms, or maybe a cross reference. ;-)

Hello,

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
