Set up find/replace in a macro

How do I set up a find/replace function in a macro, possibly assigned to a
command button, which can take changeable information from a set place and
replace it in other parts of the document?

For example, I create a box where someone can enter their name, eg. 'John'.
They then click the command button and it automatically replaces the word
'<name>', which I've set up in various places throughout the document, with
the word 'John'?

Instead of using Find and Replace for this (plus the overhead of maintaining
a macro), it would be simpler to bookmark the place where you type 'John'
and use REF fields where you have '<name>'. Or enter John as a document
property on File > Properties > Custom and use DocProperty fields where you
want the name to appear in the document.
