If I use the set up boot disks to bring back windows xp,
will it erase all the programs I've put in. My boot load
modules are damaged and I cannot boot up. Load needed Dlls
for kernel.....Any suggestions thanks!

Don't do a complete reinstall, try a system repair first.
You can boot from the XP Setup CD. Just go into your CMOS
and set your CDROM as the first boot device. Boot from
the XP Setup CD and select the option for system repair.
If all goes well, it will fix XP and save your data. But
remember this is Microsoft which can be unpredictable.
Good luck.

That is, not the immediately offered R for Repair, but enter Setup, and
after the license agreement highlight the reference to your Windows and
*then* hit R

Note that this will unwind *all* Windows Updates, including SP1 if it is
not on the CD. So make sure you get the Firewall enabled before going
on the net *even for a moment* or you will be hit by Blast, Sasser or
friends
