Set focus

Stephanie

Hi. I created a button to AddRecord. After I press the
button, I'd like the cursor to be set at FirstName. I
tried
Me!FirstName.SetFocus
but that didn't work.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,Stephanie

The code you posted is correct - provided the name of the control really is
'FirstName', and it is a type of control that is capable of receiving focus.
Some controls, such as Label and Line controls, can not receive focus. You
also can't move the focus to a control that is disabled. Check the Name of
the control, the control type, and the Enabled property. If you're still
stuck at that point, post again, and tell us what happens when you try to
run the code - is there an error message?

Brendan, Thanks for the post. I see what I did wrong- I
put the SetFocus statement in the Err_AddRecord_Click
section, so no error no focus.
Thanks for letting me know that my statement was correct-
newbie you kow. Thanks, Stephanie
