Set focus field

Hi,
I've been reading some of the posts but haven't found anything that has
helped my situation so far. I have a form with a subform. When going to a
new record, I want the focus of the cursor to be the first field (Emp Name).
I have tried "me.EmpName.set focus on the after update but that didn't work.
I tried the same thing on current form. That didn't work either.

If you are in the last tab stop field of the form and press Tab (or Enter if
you have the option set to cause Enter to go to the next field or the right
or down arrow if you have that option set accordinly) you will go to the
first tab stop field of the next record.

Hi Mike,
I did; no dice. I've even looked at MS db samples (Northwind, for instance)
and have found that none of their forms are designed to have the cursor
automatically go to any other record other than the one they are currently in
when going to the next record. I'm surprised, because I would assume that in
a data entry form it only makes sense to set the focus to the first field of
the next record rather than having to use the mouse.

Hi,
Thanks for replying but I don't think I worded my problem properly. When
the user is inputting data into a form and then arrows over to start a new
record on a form, I want the cursor to jump to a particular field, in this
case, the first field on the form, instead of remaining in the field that it
currently resides.
