Can anyone help I have installed XP Pro, then SP2 and my services are not
starting up, so for instance all the services of automatic start up type are
not started and I have to manually go in and start them up, eg DHCP Client,
Browser, NetLogon, Event Log etc etc, any ideas how to get them working,
theres nothing unusual in the event log

TIA

You may experiencing a profile corruption, try to create a new profile (as
Admin) and copy the data from one of these profile to the new and test to see
if it will work.
If it did work then you know it is a profile corruption, after making sure
you copied all the Data from the Old Profile to the new one, you can safely
delete the old corrupted one, the same with other account.

Thanks Nass, I have created two new profiles and both exhibit the same
behaviour, ie services with automatic as startup type dont get started, eg
browser and dhcp client, however there are four that do, plug and play being
one of them, I dont suppose you have any other ideas

TIA

Hi Rob,
It could be a dependences services/s did not start causing this, say like
the RPC and Service..etc.
Have a look on these links and compare the settings:
