I have an application that requires the MSDE service to be running before it
can access a database. The MSDE service does nto start before the application
launches and as such causes the app to crash. I am wondering if there is a
script or batch file that I can use/modify to check if the service is started
before launching the application. Does anyone know of something like that?

Right click my computer > click Manage > Computer Management window appears.
Find the service under Services and Applications. Double click the service, a
box will appear > General Tab > Startup type > choose automatic
