Service pop as windows

WinXP, SP1, P3/833, 512MB RAM, 1024MB pagefile, 5GB free
HD. User has Outlook, GoldMine and MAS 200 (accounting
app) open.

Periodically (the last time was about two months ago),
user's PC will start popping open windows with the titles
of some of the services that are running. CPU pegs to
100% and user clears problem with a reboot, eventually.

Any takers?

It seems that most of the services that are running will
pop in a window. A short list of some items:

wms spool
wms idle
sysfader
ms_webcheckmonitor
vpipclink (Google yields null on this one)

I managed to write these down because they're unfamiliar
to me.

Scan with current antivirus using updated definitions. User undoubtedly
has malware installed - remove with Spybot Search & Destroy and/or
Ad-aware.
