I know a lot of security issues have been addressed in the many XP
updates.

How much longer will Microsoft continue to release these updates
before it gives up supporting XP?

According to the links below until 08/2014. I think Microsoft realizes that
Vista was not well received in the business community for many reasons but
hopes to rectify that with Windows 7. Even so most businesses will wait
until Windows 7 has been out at least a year before considering upgrades.
