I just cam across someone who has been using Win 2000 Pro for some time, but
doesn't have SP1 or SP2 installed. I have both of these on CD, but don't use
Win 2000 myself - so before letting him have these, can anyone let me know
if there were any problems from these packs?

Cheers

Have them go to Windows Update and install SP4. It has all the latest
security hotfixes/patches. If they are not connected to the Internet then
you could give them the cd's you have but they would only need the latest.
To answer your question both of those packs were just fine. Typically
problems arise from thrid party apps/drivers that can have conflicts and you
never really know until you try. Just make they have good backups and create
the uninstall directory during install to give yourself the ability to
uninstall the service pack if needed but you should be fine......

I don't recall any particular problems with either of those
service packs, but they are quite old. Your acquaintance would do
better to download and install SP4.
