Hi
i have windows XP Home edittion and have currently got no
updates or service packs installed on my computer. On the
microsoft website it says that there is service pack 1 and
service pack 1a, also there are critical security updates.

i was wondering if anyone can help me and tell me what i
need to install on my computer for my windows xp home
edition.

Also on the security updates i noticed it said xp gold
what eddition is this?????

hope somebody can shed some light on my little problem.

thanks

becky

Download and install SP1 first, then install the Update Rollup package.

Windows XP Service Pack 1

Note: Select "Network Installation" (32-bit version)

Update Rollup 1 for Windows XP Is Available

Rebecca,

Just go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and scan for updates - it
will pre-select all of the critical updates you need.
Since this will include SP1a this will be a very large amount of data to
download to your PC.

Enable your Internet Connection Firewall first, or the blaster RPC
exploit will shutdown your computer before you get very far with the
updates.
