Service Pack Uninstall Folders in Windows folder

I have a large number of uninstall folders such as $NtUninstallKB817778$ in
my Windows folder. Can I delete all of these? Or are they needed. I
believe they have something to do with the Service Pack.

Thanks

If you never need to uninstall the patches, then you can remove the folders.
Exactly how you would know that you would never need to remove a patch is
your job. Personally, I would copy the folders to a DVD before removing
anything.

These folders contain the uninstall information for the update you install.
That means that you will be unable to uninstall an update if you delete
these folders. You may leave them there unless you need hard drive space. If
your system is stable, and if you no longer plan to uninstall an update,
then go ahead and remove the corresponding $NtUninstall..... folders.
