Service Pack Downlaod

Can't download Service Pack 2. Machine quits halfway through indicating
"can't find critical files." After doing the uninstall my machine lacks the

why not just go for SP3, it contains all the fixes for the 2 previous service packs.

Please give the exact text of what it is you are attempting to actually
install and if you feel you need to post in multiple groups - cross-post

What is the exact version of XP that you are using?
Start>Right-click My Computer>Properties >General

XP Service Pack ???what is installed now there.?
