Service Pack 4 & Zone Alarm Pro

Well I have found the first incompatibility with Windows 2000 Service Pack
4. Apparently Zone Alarm Pro version 4 doesn't play very nice with the new
service pack. In fact it causes the system to lock up completely. Just a
little heads up for anyone hasn't noticed this yet!

Doesn't work with the free version either in case anyone was
wondering.

Yup, same here:
1) Dell Optiplex, Pentium 500, 256 Mb Ram, all standard Dell issue PC.
2) Rather normal install of W2k, SP3 installed and running fine
3) ZA Pro 3.0 installed and running fine.
4) ISP Direcway two-way Satellite Internet Connection, running fine.

After installing W2k Service Pack 4, at the first reboot, all of my
network connection are visible but totally unusable.

Lost any form of Internet connection.

PPP dial-up is totally messed up too. Completely useless.

Heck, just trying to"see" the "properties" of any of the networking
connection causes a total lock up of the system, and forces me to do a
brutal shutdown. Uninstalling ZA Pro is a NO GO.
After 2 hours of trying I had no choice but to do a F&R (format and
reload).
Be careful out there...

Robi.

Same happened to me. I ended up installing XP to backup everything,
formatting, recovering, reloading and resetting configs. 6 hours work so
far...

FWIW, I just installed SP4 on my machine, which has ZA Pro 4 on it,
and everything is fine.
