service pack 3 problem

Ive just downloaded service pack 3 from windows updates, but when i rebooted
the computer its gets as far as the windows logo then reboots itself. I tried
safe mode but cant get into that either.
Please help

I have fixed this several times by attaching the drive to another system (or
booting with a Linux CD) and simply deleting the file, C:\pagefile.sys and
emptying the wastebasket.

This file is set to hidden, system, so you have to enable the view of those
files.

Once the file is deleted, put the drive back or remove the CD, and restart.
Startup may take several minutes, and you may have to reset the system once,
but I have found that this works very well. And it's cheap and fast to do
