does anyone really know if the service pack 2 will
greatly affect the working of xp pro...i mean is it going
to definately cuz issues with programs or what??

Stay posted here I am Positive just hours after it is released these
newsgroups will be flooded with:

"I just installed SP2 now I can't......"

I would wait a while and see what happens if I were you. As for me I have no
intention of ever installing it at all.

With adequate preparation, installation issues should be minimal:

Generally the few things that will be broken may be applications
already exploiting a weakness that SP2 fixes.
For a change application manufacturers may be forced to do it right.
