Service Pack 2 Upgrade and LPT printers

Installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 on two systems. Each has a laser printer
connected to the parallel printer port (one hp laserjet 2200dn and one hp
laserjet 2300n). The printers are set as default.

After the update, both printers started routing default print jobs to a
network printer. Control Panel shows the LPT1 port is working all right, but
no jobs would go to the printer.

Is this a known problem?

Stating the obvious - when in "Printers and Faxes" component of "Control
Panel" which printer has the "check mark" in the "black circle" on it. That
is the default printer - if it is no longer a local printer, then right
click on your choice of printer and set as "default".

ok, i must appear stupid...we checked the default printer status first...

default printer was local...connected to parallel port behind the
printer...on both of two printers...after updating to service pack 2, both
systems send print jobs that are otherwise assigned to go to the default
printer PAST THE DEFAULT PRINTER to a network printer of a different model
and driver...need to know if this is a known issue?
