How do I find out if the tech at the computer store installed service pack 1a on my computer or if it was in the Windows updates I installed so that I don't reinstall it?

Contol Panel--System

On the general tab, under the system section, it should show what version
you have.

Hi Jerry,

If you already have SP1a, Updates will not re-install it. You can go to
"Start", "Run" and type "winver"(no quotes) and it will tell you if SP1 is
installed.

No. The two are identical except that SP1a has had the Java
Virtual Machine removed from it, since a court order now prevents
Microsoft from distributing it.

Hi Jerry,

If that was addressed to me, you're welcome. If not, you're welcome anyway.

It's always nice to know how to do it from the command line. Thanks for
your help.
